Having entered the New Year 2021, it is time to begin a tour of the various regions of the Catholic Biblical Federation on our journey towards the 10th Plenary Assembly. This month we will visit the Region of Africa.
Coming to the Assembly, the representatives of the member institutions of the Catholic Biblical Federation of Africa and Madagascar will present a wide range of initiatives, concerns and projects from their region.
Among the most significant ones will be: the project of developing a general coordinated Biblical Apostolate structure for all of Africa, activity of the Biblical Centre for Africa and Madagascar (BICAM) as part of the organizational structure of the Symposium of the Bishops’ Conferences of Africa and Madagascar (SCEAM), the challenge of translating and publishing the Bible in numerous local African languages, and the development of effective and viable practices and methods for the biblical formation of clergy and laity in Africa and Madagascar.
